A podcast discussion on religion and politics in the Middle East with me and my colleague John Esposito. It was a good discussion, I think. We agreed that there is a sense of ummah, a family of the faithful that is a wonderful thing, but it is also a dysfunctional family (as many are) with deep divisions and hatreds, the most vitriolic today being the Shia-Sunni split.
